Cognitive Behavioral Therapy for Psychosis (CBTp)
CBTp is an evidence-based approach that helps clients understand the development of their psychosis and address the cognitive distortions that interfere with their daily functioning and quality of life — reducing distress and building more effective ways of engaging with the world.
Training equips clinicians with a structured set of specialized techniques, delivered over three days with extended supervision, and can be customized to fit your organization's clinical context and population.
About This Practice
What is CBTp?
CBTp is an evidence-based approach to reducing the distress associated with psychotic symptoms to improve quality of life. It helps clients understand the development of their psychosis and identify cognitive distortions about psychotic experiences that interfere with their functioning in the world.
The training will teach the rationale for CBTp, the basic components of the approach, and specialized techniques including normalizing, Socratic questioning, and behavioral experiments. Participants will receive a catalogue of handouts and useful tools to use in the application of CBTp. The course can be customized to your organization's needs.
Training Details
CBTp Training & Certification
- 3 days of intensive training
- Offered on-site (your location or ours) or virtually
- Followed by 6 months of weekly or 12 months of biweekly supervision via Teams or Zoom
- Certificate of completion awarded at the conclusion of the course
