Mental Health First Aid (MHFA)

This training is available by invitation only to designated Managed Care Organizations (MCO), their behavioral health affiliates and direct service support and long-term care providers.

**Webcam and audio are necessary the duration of the training for anyone wishing to participate. This training will be conducted similar to in-person training with expectation of interaction and role plays.

This virtual training via Zoom teaches participants how to help someone who is developing a mental health problem or experiencing a mental health crisis. The evidence behind the program demonstrates that it helps trainees identify, understand and respond to signs of mental illnesses and substance use disorders.

This training provides 8 hours of Continuing Education Credits for the following licenses: Psychologist, Professional Counselor, Psychological Associate, Social Work, Marriage and Family Therapist, Chemical Dependency Counselor, Peer Specialists, Supported Employment Specialist and Certified Family Partner. Upon successful completion of the training, you will earn a certificate of completion and (if applicable) continuing education credit.

Funding for all training opportunities is provided by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and is only offered to Texas residents.
