This 3-day virtual training via Zoom prepares individuals to become instructors of the Adult Mental Health First Aid workshop. MHFA teaches members of the public how to help an adult who is developing a mental health problem, experiencing a worsening of an existing mental health problem or in a mental health crisis. Mental Health First Aid does not teach people to treat or diagnose mental health or substance use conditions. Instead, the training teaches people how to offer initial support until appropriate professional help is received or until the crisis resolves.
In order for your registration to be complete, an application is required. Instructions for completing the application will be emailed to you after enrollment. Once submitted, your application will be reviewed, and you will be notified via an email if you are accepted to be a participant in the training. Upon acceptance, you will be given instructions for how to order your participant materials to be shipped to you. Please note that acceptance is not guaranteed.
Funding for all training opportunities is provided by the Texas Health and Human Services Commission and is only offered to Texas residents.
